About the Weirdos behind Weirdo Wash
Weirdo Wash began in May of 2022 when I ran out of soap. It was following COVID & my homemade soap bucket had finally ran out with no restock in sight. I happened to be doing oil changes & other maintenance on the diesel trucks- which did quite the number on my skin. The oil industry also bestowed our mascot upon me: our cat Shesmu. My partner, Chris, encouraged me to pull the small soap making kit out of the back of the closet. I was instantly hooked & began researching ingredients to best help my struggling skin. 3 years later & I'm still looking into the best ways to help others with their skin. I added the historical inspiration within a year of first making soap to prevent burn out & pay homage to people whose stories we can still learn from. Chris began making beard oils & beard balms- not to mention all of the videos he creates & technical support he provides. Our goal is to always provide quality products that are good for you, the planet, & the people that left their lessons behind for us.

About the Ingredients
All butters & oils used to create the products are organic/raw, sustainable, & support other small businesses. Fresh herbs, flowers, & honey are sourced through local friends & family. You won't see "Fragrance" on any of our products because we only use essential oils for scents due to the allergen potential. You also won't see "Mica Powders" because we would rather use natural clays. I was once the itchy kid & while I recognize soap can't cure anything, a limited ingredient list with high quality sourcing made by someone who understands that pain sure makes a difference. Feel free to email katsweirdowash@gmail.com with any questions regarding ingredients.

About the Infusions
Most of the soaps are infused with either teas or herbs in olive oil. In the history collections, the infusions are paired with different women based off of the origins of the herb/tea & the woman herself. The herbs & teas are always locally sourced from organic, family-owned growers & suppliers. Different herbs can change the feeling of cold process soap due to the varying components pulled from the plant material. Basil is extra sudsy, Rosemary is extra smooth, & Calendula is insanely soft. Personally, tea-based infusions are my favorite due to the extra scent & color change. Plus, the tea leaves on top of the soap is recycled from the tea brewed & infused into the same soap!

About Beeswax
The only reason we're not a fully vegan company: bees. The byproduct of their existence is truly a beauty to behold but it's not always respected by bigger companies. With locally sourced honey for sensitive skin friendly soap & beeswax for preservative-free lotion alternatives, we've created skincare products that treat your skin with the utmost respect. You can rest easy knowing the bees that created our honey & beeswax are treated like members of the family & beloved by their human caretakers.

About Herstory
While the history aspect was originally born from boredom & started with mythology around the world, it has grown to be one to the cornerstones of Weirdo Wash. The primary collection soaps are inspired by the lives of real women who came before us. Each month is a different collection compiled of 8 soaps based off 8 different women with varying backgrounds who relate in some way: Warriors, Royals, Pirates, etc. Each collection includes a balance of well-known women with infamous backgrounds & women we unfortunately don't hear the correct stories of nearly enough. I believe we must learn from their stories & pay respect to the strides they made for us in their time. I want Weirdo Wash to mean something & that something is to remind us of their lessons, strength, & the work they did for all of us today.
